38~001|001 ZECHARIAH` In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
38~001|001 ZEKHARYA` In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, the son of Berechiahu, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying.
38~001|002 ZECHARIAH` The Lord hath been sore displeased with your fathers.
38~001|002 ZEKHARYA` The Lord has been much displeased with your fathers.
38~001|003 ZECHARIAH` Therefore say you to them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn you to me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn to you, saith the Lord of hosts.
38~001|003 ZEKHARYA` Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord of hosts; Turn to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will turn to you, said the Lord of hosts.
38~001|004 ZECHARIAH` Be you not as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn you now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken to me, saith the Lord.
38~001|004 ZEKHARYA` Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out, Thus says the Lord of hosts; Turn now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings; but they did not hear, nor did they listen to me, says the Lord.
38~001|005 ZECHARIAH` Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?
38~001|005 ZEKHARYA` Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live for ever?
38~001|006 ZECHARIAH` But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
38~001|006 ZEKHARYA` But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? So that they repented and said: As the Lord of hosts intended to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so has he dealt with us.
38~001|007 ZECHARIAH` Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
38~001|007 ZEKHARYA` On the twenty fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shvat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, the son of Berechiahu, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying.
38~001|008 ZECHARIAH` I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
38~001|008 ZEKHARYA` I saw in the night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees in the glen; and behind him were red, sorrel, and white horses.
38~001|009 ZECHARIAH` Then said I, O my Lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said to me, I will shew you what these be.
38~001|009 ZEKHARYA` Then I said, O my lord, what are these? And the angel who talked with me said to me, I will show you what these are.
38~001|010 ZECHARIAH` And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the Lord hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
38~001|010 ZEKHARYA` And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the Lord has sent to walk to and fro in the earth.
38~001|011 ZECHARIAH` And they answered the angel of the Lord that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sits still, and is at rest.
38~001|011 ZEKHARYA` And they answered the angel of the Lord who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sits still, and is at rest.
38~001|012 ZECHARIAH` Then the angel of the Lord answered and said, O Lord of hosts, how long wilt you not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which you hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
38~001|012 ZEKHARYA` Then the angel of the Lord answered and said, O Lord of hosts, how long will you not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which you have had indignation these seventy years?
38~001|013 ZECHARIAH` And the Lord answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
38~001|013 ZEKHARYA` And the Lord answered the angel who talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
38~001|014 ZECHARIAH` So the angel that communed with me said to me, Cry you, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
38~001|014 ZEKHARYA` And the angel who talked with me said to me, Proclaim, saying: Thus says the Lord of hosts; I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great zeal.
38~001|015 ZECHARIAH` And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
38~001|015 ZEKHARYA` And I am very much displeased with the nations that are at ease; for I was only a little angry, and they furthered the affliction.
38~001|016 ZECHARIAH` Therefore thus saith the Lord; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
38~001|016 ZEKHARYA` Therefore thus says the Lord: I have returned to Jerusalem with mercies; my house shall be rebuilt in it, says the Lord of hosts, and a measuring line shall be stretched over Jerusalem.
38~001|017 ZECHARIAH` Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
38~001|017 ZEKHARYA` Proclaim further, saying, Thus says the Lord of hosts; My cities shall again overflow with prosperity; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
38~001|018 ZECHARIAH` Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
38~001|019 ZECHARIAH` And I said to the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, these are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
38~001|020 ZECHARIAH` And the Lord shewed me four carpenters.
38~001|021 ZECHARIAH` Then said I, What come these to do? And he spoke, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but These are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
38~002|001 ZECHARIAH` I Lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
38~002|001 ZEKHARYA` Then I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
38~002|002 ZECHARIAH` Then said I, Whither goest you? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
38~002|002 ZEKHARYA` And I said to the angel who talked with me, What are these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
38~002|003 ZECHARIAH` And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
38~002|003 ZEKHARYA` And the Lord showed me four craftsmen.
38~002|004 ZECHARIAH` And said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:
38~002|004 ZEKHARYA` Then I said: What are these coming to do? And he spoke, saying, Those were the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man could lift up his head; but these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations, which lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.
38~002|005 ZECHARIAH` For I, saith the Lord, will be to her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
38~002|005 ZEKHARYA` I lifted up my eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
38~002|006 ZECHARIAH` Ho, Ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the Lord.
38~002|006 ZEKHARYA` Then said I, Where are you going? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width, and what is its length.
38~002|007 ZECHARIAH` Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
38~002|007 ZEKHARYA` And, behold, the angel who talked with me goes out, and another angel goes out to meet him.
38~002|008 ZECHARIAH` For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me to the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
38~002|008 ZEKHARYA` And said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and cattle in it.
38~002|009 ZECHARIAH` For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and you shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me.
38~002|009 ZEKHARYA` And I, says the Lord, will be to her a surrounding wall of fire, and the glory in her midst.
38~002|010 ZECHARIAH` Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you, saith the Lord.
38~002|010 ZEKHARYA` Ho! ho! Flee from the land of the north, says the Lord; for I have spread you abroad like the four winds of the heaven, says the Lord.
38~002|011 ZECHARIAH` And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of you, and you shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me to you.
38~002|011 ZEKHARYA` Ho! Escape, O Zion, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.
38~002|012 ZECHARIAH` And the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
38~002|012 ZEKHARYA` For thus says the Lord of hosts; because of his honor he sent me to the nations which plundered you; for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.
38~002|013 ZECHARIAH` Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
38~002|013 ZEKHARYA` For, behold, I will shake my hand upon them, and they shall become plunder to those who served them; and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me.
38~002|014 ZEKHARYA` Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, behold, I come, and I will dwell in your midst, says the Lord.
38~002|015 ZEKHARYA` And many nations shall join themselves to the Lord on that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in your midst, and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.
38~002|016 ZEKHARYA` And the Lord shall inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
38~002|017 ZEKHARYA` Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord; for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.
38~003|001 ZECHARIAH` And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
38~003|001 ZEKHARYA` And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to thwart him.
38~003|002 ZECHARIAH` And the Lord said to Satan, The Lord rebuke you, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke you: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
38~003|002 ZEKHARYA` And the Lord said to Satan, The Lord rebukes you, O Satan; the Lord that has chosen Jerusalem rebukes you. Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
38~003|003 ZECHARIAH` Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
38~003|003 ZEKHARYA` And Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
38~003|004 ZECHARIAH` And he answered and spoke to those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And to him he said, Behold, I have caused yours iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with change of raiment.
38~003|004 ZEKHARYA` And he answered and spoke to those who stood before him, saying, Remove the filthy garments from him. And to him he said, Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will dress you in festive garments.
38~003|005 ZECHARIAH` And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.
38~003|005 ZEKHARYA` And I said, Let them set a pure mitre upon his head. And they set a pure mitre upon his head, and dressed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.
38~003|006 ZECHARIAH` And the angel of the Lord protested to Joshua, saying,
38~003|006 ZEKHARYA` And the angel of the Lord warned Joshua, saying.
38~003|007 ZECHARIAH` Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If you wilt walk in my ways, and if you wilt keep my charge, then you shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give you places to walk among these that stand by.
38~003|007 ZEKHARYA` Thus says the Lord of hosts; If you will walk in my ways, and if you will keep my charge, and you will also judge my house, and will also guard my courts, then I will give you access among these who stand by.
38~003|008 ZECHARIAH` Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you, and thy fellows that sit before you: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch.
38~003|008 ZEKHARYA` Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you, and your friends who sit before you; for they are men of good omen; for, behold, I will bring my servant the Branch (Zemach`.
38~003|009 ZECHARIAH` For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
38~003|009 ZEKHARYA` For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua. Upon one stone are seven facets; behold, I will engrave its inscription, says the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
38~003|010 ZECHARIAH` In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall you call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.
38~003|010 ZEKHARYA` On that day, says the Lord of hosts, everyone of you shall invite his neighbor under his vine and under his fig tree.
38~004|001 ZECHARIAH` And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.
38~004|001 ZEKHARYA` And the angel who talked with me came again, and waked me, like a man who is wakened out of his sleep.
38~004|002 ZECHARIAH` And said to me, What sees you? And I said, I have looked, And behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
38~004|002 ZEKHARYA` And he said to me, What do you see? And I said, I have looked, and behold a lamp stand all of gold, with a bowl upon its top, and seven lamps on it, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon its top.
38~004|003 ZECHARIAH` And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
38~004|003 ZEKHARYA` And there are two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon its left side.
38~004|004 ZECHARIAH` So I answered and spoke to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
38~004|004 ZEKHARYA` And I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
38~004|005 ZECHARIAH` Then the angel that talked with me answered and said to me, Knowest you not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
38~004|005 ZEKHARYA` Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, Do you not know what these are? And I said, No, my lord.
38~004|006 ZECHARIAH` Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
38~004|006 ZEKHARYA` Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
38~004|007 ZECHARIAH` Who art you, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel you shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace to it.
38~004|007 ZEKHARYA` Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forward its headstone, shouting Grace, grace to it.
38~004|008 ZECHARIAH` Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
38~004|008 ZEKHARYA` And the word of the Lord came to me, saying.
38~004|009 ZECHARIAH` The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and you shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me to you.
38~004|009 ZEKHARYA` The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.
38~004|010 ZECHARIAH` For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
38~004|010 ZEKHARYA` For who has despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel. These seven are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
38~004|011 ZECHARIAH` Then answered I, and said to him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
38~004|011 ZEKHARYA` Then I answered, and said to him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the lamp stand and upon its left side?
38~004|012 ZECHARIAH` And I answered again, and said to him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
38~004|012 ZEKHARYA` And I answered again, and said to him, What are these two olive branches which are beside the two golden sprouts, from which the golden oil is poured out?
38~004|013 ZECHARIAH` And he answered me and said, Knowest you not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
38~004|013 ZEKHARYA` And he answered me and said, Do you not know what these are? And I said, No, my lord.
38~004|014 ZECHARIAH` Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
38~004|014 ZEKHARYA` And he said, These are the two anointed ones, who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
38~005|001 ZECHARIAH` Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll.
38~005|001 ZEKHARYA` Then I turned, and lifted up my eyes, and looked, and behold a flying scroll.
38~005|002 ZECHARIAH` And he said to me, What sees you? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
38~005|002 ZEKHARYA` And he said to me, What do you see? And I answered, I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits, and its width ten cubits.
38~005|003 ZECHARIAH` Then said he to me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that steals shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that swears shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
38~005|003 ZEKHARYA` And he said to me, This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole earth; for everyone who steals shall be cut off henceforth, according to it; and everyone who swears falsely shall be cut off henceforth, according to it.
38~005|004 ZECHARIAH` I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that swears falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
38~005|004 ZEKHARYA` I will send it forth, says the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears falsely by my name; and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and it shall consume it with its timber and its stones.
38~005|005 ZECHARIAH` Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said to me, Lift up now yours eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.
38~005|005 ZEKHARYA` Then the angel who talked with me went out, and said to me, Lift up now your eyes, and see what is this that goes out.
38~005|006 ZECHARIAH` And I said, What is it? And He said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth.
38~005|006 ZEKHARYA` And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah measure going out. And he said, This is their appearance through all the earth.
38~005|007 ZECHARIAH` And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sits in the midst of the ephah.
38~005|007 ZEKHARYA` And, behold, the leaden cover was lifted; and there was a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah measure.
38~005|008 ZECHARIAH` And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.
38~005|008 ZEKHARYA` And he said, This is Wickedness. And he cast her into the midst of the ephah measure; and he cast the weight of lead upon its mouth.
38~005|009 ZECHARIAH` Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.
38~005|009 ZEKHARYA` Then I lifted up my eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork; and they lifted up the ephah measure between the earth and the sky.
38~005|010 ZECHARIAH` Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?
38~005|010 ZEKHARYA` Then I said to the angel who talked with me, Where are they taking the ephah measure?
38~005|011 ZECHARIAH` And he said to me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.
38~005|011 ZEKHARYA` And he said to me, To build it a house in the land of Shinar; and when this is prepared, they will set it down there upon its base.
38~006|001 ZECHARIAH` And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.
38~006|001 ZEKHARYA` And I turned, and lifted up my eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of bronze.
38~006|002 ZECHARIAH` In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;
38~006|002 ZEKHARYA` In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses.
38~006|003 ZECHARIAH` And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.
38~006|003 ZEKHARYA` And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grizzled, bay horses.
38~006|004 ZECHARIAH` Then I answered and said to the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?
38~006|004 ZEKHARYA` Then I answered and said to the angel who talked with me, What are these, my lord?
38~006|005 ZECHARIAH` And the angel answered and said to me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.
38~006|005 ZEKHARYA` And the angel answered and said to me, These are the four winds of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.
38~006|006 ZECHARIAH` The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.
38~006|006 ZEKHARYA` The black horses which are in it go toward the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grizzled go toward the south country.
38~006|007 ZECHARIAH` And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.
38~006|007 ZEKHARYA` And the bay horses went out, and sought to go to walk to and fro through the earth; and he said, Get here, walk to and fro through the earth. And they walked to and fro through the earth.
38~006|008 ZECHARIAH` Then cried he upon me, and spoke to me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.
38~006|008 ZEKHARYA` Then he cried to me, and spoke to me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have set my spirit at rest in the north country.
38~006|009 ZECHARIAH` And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
38~006|009 ZEKHARYA` And the word of the Lord came to me, saying.
38~006|010 ZECHARIAH` Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come you the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;
38~006|010 ZEKHARYA` Take from the exiles, Heldai, Tobiah, and Jedaiah, who have come from Babylon, and come on that same day, and go to the house of Josiah, son of Zephaniah.
38~006|011 ZECHARIAH` Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;
